Mall, Library on BOC's Agenda

Among other things, the board will consider an intergovernmental agreement with Woodstock for road improvements along Ridgewalk Parkway in conjunction with an outlet mall project.

At their regular meeting tonight, the  will consider buying land for a new $5 million library in Lathemtown.

The  and will cost $170,000.

The library is expected to cost about $5 million, $3.1 in SPLOST money and $2 million in state funds, according to the Cherokee Tribune.

At the Dec. 20, , Woodstock officials asked the county for $700,000 to assist them with improvements to Ridgewalk Parkway. They suggested using a portion of the $3 million in SPLOST funds earmarked for the Arnold Mill bypass. The money will likely not go to the bypass.

, the board agreed to give Woodstock the money.

Construction on The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta was slated to begin in the first half of this year, according to a Dec. 13 news release from Horizon Group Properties, the Michigan company that plans to develop the 365,000-square-foot mall at Ridgewalk Parkway and Interstate 575.
