The Canton City Council meets at 6 tonight at . Among the items on the agenda:

  • Nine days after , the  will have the first reading of an ordinance that will permit package sales of beer and wine between 12:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Sundays. Open the PDF to read the full ordinance.
  • Also, the City Council will have the first reading of an ordinance that will regulate the city-owned Southview Cemetery. During , city attorney Bobby Dyer said the ordinance is based on the city of Rome's cemetery ordinance. It would spell out legalities of ownership, hours and more. A designated superintendent would oversee the cemetery.
