GDOT Explores Roundabout in East Cherokee
The Georgia Department of Transportation next month will hold an open house on a proposal to install a roundabout at the intersection of two state highways.
A roundabout could make its way to a major intersection in eastern Cherokee County.
The Georgia Department of Transportation next month will hold a public information open house to provide residents with information on a proposal to install a roundabout at the intersection of Ball Ground Road/S.R. 372 and Hightower Road/S.R. 369.
The open house will be held between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Free Home Elementary School.

The roundabout would replace the current four-way stop at the intersection. There will be no formal presentation, and residents can stop by the school anytime during the two-hour window.
GDOT will also accept written statements on the proposals until Nov. 22. Those statements can be mailed to: Mr. Glenn Bowman, P.E., state environmental administrator, Georgia Department of Transportation, 600 West Peachtree Street, NW – 16th Floor Atlanta, Georgia 30308.
