Furlough Day for Cherokee Schools

4. will accept donations until Wednesday for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), an organization that searches "for ways to cure, better treat and prevent Type 1 diabetes." At 9 a.m. Friday, students will participate in a Kids Walk to Cure Diabetes.

5. now has a Junior Master Gardener program. Through the support of Partners in Education as well as Gus and Clara Mae VanBrink from in Canton, students can learn about horticulture and landscaping.
