The city of Canton has rescheduled its City Manager Search Committee meeting to this afternoon at 3 p.m.

The meeting was originally set for Tuesday afternoon, but was postponed until today at Canton City Hall.

The committee — made up of City Council members Bill Grant, John Rust and Mayor Gene Hobgood — will begin the task of finding the person who will permanently assume the position.

Councilman Glen Cummins is currently serving as the interim city manager. He was named interim after last Thursday's council meeting. Earlier this month, former City Manager Scott Woodabruptly resigned before the Jan. 2 council meeting.
