Cherokee To Vote on Proposed Hickory Flat Subdivision

Chatham Neighborhoods, LLC is asking the county to rezone 67 acres of land to accommodate a 115-lot conservation subdivision.

Cherokee County Commissioners on Tuesday will consider a rezoning request that would allow a developer to build a new subdivision in Hickory Flat.

Commissioners will consider a request from Chatham Neighborhoods LLC to rezone 67.5 acres that lie between Hickory Flat Highway/S.R. 140 and Batesville Road south of the Hickory Road intersection from office-institutional, R-40 and agricultural to R-15.

The developer would like to build a conservation subdivision with 115 lots.

The Cherokee County Planning Commission voted to recommend denial of the applicant's request during its March 4 meeting.
