Cherokee Aquatic Center Delays Oasis Pool Opening

Cooler temperatures and a chance of rain have forced the Cherokee County Aquatic Center to reschedule the Oasis grand opening to May 24.

A wave of cooler temperatures and chance of rain have forced the staff at the Cherokee County Aquatic Center to delay opening its outdoor Oasis pool.

The opening will now be held on Saturday, May 24. However, that isn't stopping the center from moving forward with its indoor pool plans.

The indoor pool will be open, and the center has decided to utilize its wibit for those to enjoy in the pool. The wibit will be up for use on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5pm.

As a reminder, all swimmers must be able to pass a 25-yard swim test on their own to use the wibit.

"Our team is very ready for this summer and are excited to make your visit with us fun and safe," Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency wrote on its Facebook page.
