Canton To Hear Update On 3rd Fire Station

The city is actively looking to find a suitable site in the northwestern portion of the city to build its much-needed third fire station.

The Canton City Council tonight will hear an update from interim City Manager Glen Cummins on the proposed third fire station slated to be built in the city.

The council will hear the update during its meeting tonight, which starts at 6 p.m. at Canton City Hall.

Cummins will update the council on the status of finding suitable land and an architect to design the station.

The city is actively looking to find a site in the northwestern portion of the city to build its much-needed third fire station.Β 

Mayor Gene Hobgood will discuss security measures in response to House Bill 60, which expands where license gun owners can carry firearms,Β and declaration of private streets in the Great Sky community.
