Break Interrupts Water Service

1. Cherokee County has , and more are on the way now that businesses in Canton's Technology Ridge area can take advantage of new tax credits, local and state leaders announced Tuesday morning.

2. The  on Tuesday night approved an agreement that will allow the county to purchase . The land will be used for a new library in Lathemtown. Construction is slated to begin in 2013.

3. There was a major water main break on Owens Store Road on Tuesday, leaving folks at and without service for four hours. Water service was back to normal by 1 p.m., the principals of both schools said in a joint letter to parents. "Alternative meals were prepared by our cafeteria staff, which met with all necessary guidelines," Deborah Wiseman and Bob Eddy wrote in the letter. 4. Canton's and Hickory Flat's  each won $1,000 from 11Alive and the NBC Education Nation initiative. Of the five metro Atlanta schools to receive $1,000 donations through the contest, which honored the schools that received the most votes on Facebook, three are in Cherokee County.  in Woodstock is the third school. 11Alive broadcast live from Little River on Monday morning and Indian Knoll on Tuesday morning.
