Boil Water Advisory in Canton

Areas west of Interstate 575, including downtown and Highway 140 North toward Waleska, are affected.

Parts of Canton are under a boil water advisory until further notice after a water main break occurred early this morning.

IT director Camille Wehs said in a news release that areas west of I-575, including downtown and Highway 140 North toward Waleska, are experiencing low water pressure and water loss.

Businesses such as the on Riverstone Parkway and the  have handwritten "closed" signs on their front doors.

"If you are experiencing low water pressure or loss of water," Wehs said, "a boil water advisory is in effect until further notice."

Service might not be restored until Monday, she said.

"Crews are currently working to repair the break," Wehs said. "Residents and businesses in the area should expect interruptions in service until the repairs are completed."
