Ballinger to Run for District 23 Seat

The Canton Republican said she plans to run to represent the newly-created district.

Cherokee County resident Mandi Ballinger said she plans to run for House District 23, a seat that was created last year after reapportionment and is vacant.

In a news release, Ballinger said that, if elected, she wants to reduce the size of government and make it more efficient. Ballinger also wants to eliminate the state income tax, which she said will make Georgia more attractive to new employers and could spur economic growth.

"I've been heavily involved in our local community and will represent our citizens first, not the special interests," Ballinger said. "We deserve a representative who cares deeply about ’s citizens, not just a political career."
