Areas of Free Home, Ball Ground Under Boil Water Advisory

Residents and business owners in Free Home and Ball Ground will need to boil their water until further notice.

That's because the main distribution line to the Free Home tank may cause water pressure to drop to unsafe levels, says the Cherokee County Water & Sewerage Authority. 

The low water pressure may allow back flow or back-siphonage of water which may be unsafe for human consumption into the system.

If your home or business has lost water entirely or has low water pressure, the boil water advisory applies to you.

Water for consumption should be allowed to boil for at least a minute after reaching the boiling point.

Once laboratory tests determine the water is safe for human consumption, the advisory will be lifted.
