The Woodstock Police Department is once again asking the public help them identify two possible witnesses they believe could have seen the armed robbery occur at Play N Trade on Sept. 29.
The first witness is described as a white man who appears to be between 45 and 65 years old. Woodstock police say video cameras inside Play N Trade show the man walking his dog on the sidewalk in front of the business around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday Sept. 29.
A second witness was seen with a young boy, and they both were sitting inside a light-colored SUV around 11:30 a.m. waiting for the store to open for business.
"The identities of these individuals are only being sought for possible informational purposes and are not believed to be involved in any way," said Woodstock Police spokeswoman Brittany Duncan.
At around 11:40 a.m. Sunday Sept. 29, Woodstock police and fire responded to an armed robbery and fire call at the store, located at 2990 Eagle Drive.
Once units arrived onto the scene, they met with employees of the store who said a man, armed with a gun, entered the business, and held employees in the back of the store.
The employees were eventually told to run from the store. Soon after, a fire broke out inside the store, and an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise was taken from the business.
Woodstock police and fire believe at least three men were involved and fled the scene in a late model blue Chevrolet SUV.
The suspects are described as:
- A white male, between 40 and 50 years old, with a medium-large build with a full beard.
- A white male, between 16 and 22 years old, with a medium build and brown hair.
- A white male whose description is unknown.
The fire resulted in manager Troy Brazelton receiving second and third-degree burns to parts of his body.
Anyone with information is asked to call the department at (770) 592-6030 or the Tip Line at (770) 592-6021.
