Woman in Critical Condition After Tractor Trailer Accident

Louella Ann Barber, 72, of Canton was driving her SUV on Highway 20 when an 18-wheeler struck her vehicle.

One victim remains hospitalized after Sunday's three-vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer, which snagged traffic on a busy Cherokee County thoroughfare.

Louella Ann Barber, 72, of Canton is still in critical condition at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta after the 2006 Nissan Pathfinder she was driving was hit head-on by an 18-wheeler, Georgia State Patrol Spokesman Gordy Wright said on Tuesday.

The tractor trailer, driven by Roman A. Tinajero, 40, from Quarts Hill, California, was traveling westbound on Highway 20/Knox Bridge Highway west of the Georgia National Cemetery when it left the roadway as it negotiated a curve.

Tinajero overcorrected, crossed the centerline and hit Barber's vehicle, which overturned off the roadway, Wright said.

A second passenger vehicle, a Toyota Corrolla driven by Trevor Lee Moyer, 18, of White, then rear-ended the tandems of the tractor trailer.

Along with Barber, Moyer's passengers — Charles Moyer, 49, and Victor Moyer, 15 — were also transported to Kennestone for treatment.

Charges are pending the completion of the investigation, Wright added.
