Woman Hit and Killed on Highway 41, One Dead in Atlanta Shooting

A woman who was walking along Highway 41 on a rainy night in Cartersville was twice struck by cars and killed, Georgia State Patrol spokesman Franka Young said.

One man is dead and another is in critical condition following a barrage of bullets at the North Plaza strip center near the intersection of North Avenue and Boulevard late Monday evening.

"Zone 6 officers responded to a gambling call at 628 Boulevard NE. When the officers arrived on scene they heard gunshots from the direction of 455 North Avenue," Atlanta Police Department spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones said. Visit East Atlanta Patch for more on this story. 

Burglars Ram Truck Through the Front of CVS Pharmacy - Atlanta Journal-Constitution 

At least one suspect was in custody early Tuesday following the smash-and-grab burglary of a CVS store in southwest Atlanta.

According to Atlanta police dispatchers, the break-in happened about 6 a.m. when thieves drove a vehicle through the front façade of the CVS in the 2200 block of Cascade Road. Visit the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for more on this story
