Woman, 27, Trapped, Flown to Hospital After Morning Accident in Canton

"Apparently, a Chevy S-10 pickup truck left the highway, went down an embankment and struck some trees," fire spokesman Tim Cavender said.

An unidentified 27-year-old woman was flown to Atlanta Medical Center this morning with abdominal pain and other injuries after a single vehicle accident in Canton.

Shortly after 9 a.m.,  found a truck near the intersection of Sam Nelson Road and Highway 108 and the woman trapped inside.

"Apparently, a Chevy S-10 pickup truck left the highway, went down an embankment and struck some trees," fire spokesman Tim Cavender said.

Though the woman had to be removed from the vehicle and suffered injuries to her left arm and leg from the vehicle, her condition was stable at last check, Cavender said.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
