Two Men Arrested for Falsely Reporting Robbery

The money that was reported stolen was discovered in one of the men's vehicles.

UPDATE (5:15 p.m.): According to a Canton Police Department spokesperson, both suspects claim to be from the Chattanooga, TN area.

ORIGINAL STORY: Two men have been arrested by the Canton Police Department after allegedly falsely reporting a robbery of several thousand dollars.

According to a department press release, officers responded to the 1400 block of Riverstone Parkway in the Riverstone Plaza Shopping Center just before noon after receiving a report of a robbery.

Once there, officers met David Richardson, who alleged that he had been struck on the head by two white men and had been robbed of $8,000.

Another man, Joshua Jackson, claimed to have seen the crime and gave details of what he claimed to have witnessed.

Detectives interviewed the men and determined both their stories to be fabricated. Both men were arrested for false report of a crime. Detectives later found the "stolen" $8,000 and other evidence in Richardson's vehicle.

Authorities believe this false report may be part of a larger scam.

Stay with Canton-Sixes Patch as more information becomes available.

As mayors, city council people, and county commissioners along with Wal-Mart, Ingles, Publix, Eckerds, Walgreens, and numerous liquor stores watch people die from the alcohol they license and sell and feel no responsibility to the homes that are destroyed, Cherokee County with other counties in Georgia have become a rat's nest of crime and child molestation. The two men below lied for money while the governments and chain stores addict and destroy lives in the county for money. The horror that governments would destroy lives they are paid to guard and that massive chain stores would destroy lives they are paid to serve is unbelievable but is a dark, beastly, deadly reality. Why love money so much that they would kill us and count us as nothing? The gutter has become our government because money has become our goddess. BJP, you should move to a country where the government controls everything. Then you can tell all of us what we can drink. Don't forget, a government that has the power to tell me what I can drink also has the power to tell you what to do whether you agree or not.

These two men are accountable to a third party for that $8,000. What they hoped to do was to secure a police report indicating the money had been stolen, so they could keep the $8,000 for themselves. When the person to whom the $8,000 belongs discovers their attempt to defraud him, I suspect they will face consequences far worse then getting arrested.
