This Week in Canton Crime: July 20-26

Here are the latest crimes being investigated by the Canton Police Department.

As usual, the Canton Police Department had a busy week fighting crime and keeping the residents of the city safe from criminals.

In order to help keep residents safe and raise awareness of local crime, the department has gone digital and lists the locations where crimes have been reported in their jurisdiction online.

According to CrimeReports.com, the following crimes took place in Canton between Saturday, July 20 and Friday, July 26:

  • On July 20 at 2:58 a.m., a sexual battery was reported in the 1 block of Shipp Street.
  • On July 20 at 3:40 a.m., a simple battery was reported on West South Street.
  • On July 20 at 5:54 p.m., a theft by taking (other) was reported in the 1500 block of Riverstone Parkway.
  • On July 20 at 6:11 p.m., a battery (Family Violence Act) was reported in the 700 block of Transit Avenue.
  • On July 21 at 1:39 a.m., an attempted burglary was reported at a residence in the 1 block of Lakeview Drive.
  • On July 24 at 6:30 a.m., a theft by taking (vehicle or vehicle parts) was reported in the 1 block of Waldon Crossing Drive.
  • On July 24 at 12:00 p.m., a burglary without forced entry was reported at a residence in the 400 block of Center Street.
  • On July 24 at 6:11 p.m., a theft by shoplifting was reported in the 1500 block of Riverstone Parkway.
  • On July 25 at 7:24 p.m., a theft by taking (other) was reported in the 200 block of Hillcrest Ridge.
  • On July 26 at 8:00 a.m., seven entering auto incidents were reported in the 300 block of Old Ball Ground Highway.
  • On July 26 at 12:30 p.m., a simple battery was reported in the 200 block of Hillcrest Ridge.
  • On July 26 at 12:32 p.m., identity fraud was reported in the 300 block of Oakdale Circle.
  • On July 26 at 3:12 p.m., a theft by deception was reported in the 100 block of Broad Street.
