This Week in Canton Crime: April 27-May 3

As usual, the Canton Police Department had a busy week fighting crime and keeping the residents of the city safe from criminals.

In order to help keep residents safe and raise awareness of local crime, the department has gone digital and lists the locations where crimes have been reported in their jurisdiction online.

According to CrimeReports.com, the following crimes took place in Canton between Saturday, April 27 and Friday, May 3:

• On April 27 at 7:17 a.m., a theft by shoplifting was reported in the 1400 block of Riverstone Parkway.
• On April 27 at 9:35 p.m., a simple assault was reported in the 200 block of Hickory Knoll Drive.
• On April 27 at 9:35 p.m., an attempted burglary was reported in the 200 block of Hickory Knoll Drive.
• On April 29 at at 6:52 p.m., a theft by taking was reported in the 1 block of Hearthstone Landing Drive.
• On April 29 at 6:58 p.m., a financial transaction card fraud was reported in the 1700 block of Marietta Highway.
• On April 29 at 8:41 p.m., a theft by shoplifting was reported in the 1400 block of Riverstone Parkway.
• On Apri 29 at 9:07 p.m., a theft by taking was reported in the 3700 block of Cherokee Overlook Drive.
• On April 30 at 12:08 p.m., a theft by shoplifting was reported in the 1500 block of Riverstone Parkway.
• On April 30 at 12:40 p.m., a theft by taking from building was reported in the 600 block of Oakdale Lane.
• On April 30 at 4:45 p.m., a theft by shoplifting was reported in the 1500 block of Riverstone Parkway.
• On April 30 at 7:00 p.m., a theft of lost or mislaid property was reported in the 300 block of East Main Street.
• On May 1 at 12:45 p.m., a simple assault was reported in the 1500 block of Riverstone Parkway.
• On May 1 at 5:00 p.m., identity fraud was reported in the 2400 block of Riverstone Boulevard.
• On May 2 at 12:05 a.m., a battery was reported in the 1 block of Hill Street Circle.
• On May 2 at 10:43 p.m., a theft by taking (auto) was reported in the 900 block of Alexander Ridge.
• On May 3 at 4:00 p.m., a theft by taking was reported in the 1500 block of Riverstone Parkway.
• On May 3 at 6:50 p.m.,  theft by shoplifting was reported in the 100 block of Riverstone Parkway.
• On May 3 at 10:07 p.m., financial transaction card fraud was reported in the 1400 block of Oakside Drive.
