Teen in Critical Condition After Collision

An unidentified 14-year-old boy is in critical condition at Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital after an afternoon accident in Canton, spokesman Tim Cavender said.

At 4 p.m., a black Nissan collided with the teen's Yamaha Rhino at 2181 Lower Burris Road. When authorities arrived, the Yamaha was on its side.

"Sgt. Brandon Carr stated that the patient had head trauma and was in and out of consciousness," Cavender said. "The male teenagers in the automobile, ages 17 and 19, refused treatment and were not transported."

investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the accident.
