Single Vehicle Wreck Sends Teen Girl to Hospital

The accident occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. in the Macedonia community.

A 16-year-old girl is in serious condition at North Fulton Hospital after she was involved in a single car accident in the Macedonia community Tuesday evening.

According to Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services, the girl was driving a dark green Nissan Pathfinder when she left the roadway in the 770 block of Old Orange Mill Road at approximately 6:15 p.m.

The Pathfinder went down an embankment and struck a power pole, which downed nearby power lines. Rescue crews reported that the girl had severe cuts to her left arm and leg. Captain Freddie Townsend, the girl may also have suffered internal injuries.

No other vehicles were involved and no other injuries were reported. Both lanes of Old Orange Mill Road were closed until the area was cleared.
