Single Vehicle Accident Injures Driver

Preliminary reports indicate the black pick-up truck left the roadway and hit a tree on Scott Road east of Canton.

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is investigating a single vehicle accident that injured its driver.

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to the accident shortly after 4 p.m. on Scott Road in unincorporated Canton. Firefighters arrived onto the scene and discovered the driver, a 21-year-old male, lying on the ground, the agency said in a press release.

Preliminary reports indicate the black truck he was driving left the roadway and hit a tree.

The man, who was conscious and alert, was transported in stable condition to Northside Hospital-Cherokee to undergo treatment, Cherokee fire said.
