Severe Weather Rocks Canton Again

Days after an EF1 tornado ravaged parts of Cherokee County, including Canton, severe weather continued to batter the city.

Downed trees, power outages, and small scale flooding: no, this isn't a rehashing of the severe weather that hit Canton Thursday evening, but the result of more storms that hit the area Monday.

Although Monday's storms remained tornado-free unlike Thursday, there was still plenty of damage to take into account in the Canton area.

According to Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services Public Information Officer Tim Cavender, his agency has received, "multiple reports of downed trees and power lines and some houses struck by lightning but no major fires."
