Missing Woman Case Eludes Authorities

Bartow County officials continue to search for a Marietta woman who reportedly was dropped off at a Cartersville motel in August and hasn't been seen or heard from since.

Authorities also are pleading with the public to help them locate Deborah Lee Crawford, 41, who has been missing since Aug. 19.

However, she was reported missing 10 days later when a friend of the woman initially told the Canton Police Department she dropped Crawford off at K-Mart on Marietta Highway.  

However, that friend later recanted that story, and later told authorities she actually dropped Crawford off at a hotel along Cass-White Road near Interstate 75 in Cartersville.

Bartow authorities only became aware of her disappearance when that friend reported her missing, Bartow Sheriff Clark Millsap said in a news release. 

The friend allegedly told police she believed Crawford wanted to "get away" from her current life. 

Millsap said no one has seen or spoken with Crawford since she was reported missing, and investigators cannot confirmed if Crawford was actually dropped off at the motel. 

Bartow authorities say Crawford's family is concerned about her well being, as she suffers from depression and may have other undiagnosed mental disorders. 

Crawford is described as a black woman with black hair and brown eyes, is 5'2 and possibly weighs around 165 pounds.
