Report: Ball Ground Woman Charged With Animal Cruelty

Donna Yuszkiewicz Walker, 45, faces four counts of animal cruelty in relation to the discovery of several malnourished animals on a pasture in southern Pickens County.

A Ball Ground woman is facing animal cruelty charges after several starving animals were discovered on a pasture in southern Pickens County. 

Donna Yuszkiewicz Walker, 45, was booked into the Pickens County Jail on Tuesday, June 17 and faces four counts of animal cruelty charges in the case. She bonded out of the facility on the same day. 

The Pickens County Sheriff's Office, along with the Department of Agriculture, responded to the case of the starving animals at a pasture off Yellow Creek Road, about 20 miles northwest of Canton. 

One donkey was found dead and 12 starving animals were also discovered on the property, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, which also reported the animals had no shelter other than trees.

Several of the 10 horses were adopted by Cumming-based nonprofit Save The Horses and all appear to be on the mend, according to the Pickens County Progress
