Reminder of 'Horrific Murder' Gone
The Dumpster that contained the body of slain 7-year-old Jorelys Rivera was moved on Monday morning.

The Dumpster is back at , Waste Management spokeswoman Marla Prince just told Canton-Sixes Patch.
"The compactor from the apartment complex is back in its place," she said.

A week ago Monday, authorities moved a green Dumpster from the apartment community to an area of brush and scrub on Reinhardt College Parkway.

It was there that they discovered the severely beaten body of first-grader Jorelys Rivera, who'd been abducted, sexually assaulted, stabbed an unknown number of times, then tossed in a compact trash bin.
Until Monday morning, the Dumpster sat in that same open field, a reminder to anyone who drove along Reinhardt College Parkway of the .

GBI spokesman John Bankhead said the agency finished processing the Dumpster for evidence on Dec. 5 and "told the appropriate persons in charge of the Dumpster that it could be picked up on" Dec. 6.
"That is the last we dealt with it," he said.
So why did the move take a week?
"Because of the rains last week," ο»Ώο»Ώ Chief Jeff Lance said, "Waste Management was not able to get back to the area the Dumpster was sitting. They did not want to get one of their trucks stuck."
It's not clear where the Dumpster was taken. Early Monday evening, Waste Management spokeswoman Marla Prince said she would try to verify its whereabouts.
A call and an email to Cady Scott, the spokeswoman for the company that manages the River Ridge apartment complex where Jorelys lived and died, weren't returned.
