Auto Shop Employee Wanted for Theft

People thought they were paying for auto services, not lining employee's pockets.

The Woodstock Police Department wants to hear from customers who have visited All Fleet and Automotive Service since September 2010 and paid cash.

After they paid, investigators said, former employee Justin Johnson deleted their repair orders from the shop's computer system and pocketed the money.

"The owners of All Fleet and Automotive Service did notice that their cash sales had fallen dramatically in the last few months," police spokeswoman Brittany Duncan said in a release issued today. "If not for a customer making a claim on a prior repair, Mr. Johnson’s scam would not have been discovered so quickly."

To date, the total stolen stands at $1,400. Investigators believe the amount is higher, which is why they want customers to come forward with their receipts.

"So that the shop owners may determine the extent of their losses," Duncan said. "Those invoices will then be made part of the case file in the event restitution of those monies is requested."
