Officials Search for Missing Girl

Nora Destiny Greene has been missing since May 11.

Cherokee County Sheriff’s detectives are looking for a 14-year-old girl believed to be a runaway or missing.

Nora Destiny Greene was last seen May 11. In a statement released by the Cherokee Sheriff's Office, officials said they believe she is possibly in Cherokee, Bartow or Paulding county. Greene lives in Woodstock but attends Woodland High School in Cartersville.

Cartersville UNCUT posted a photo of Greene on its Facebook page on Friday and asked for the public to help find her. According to post, Greene has blonde hair and is 5-foot-2 and weighs 125 to 130 pounds.

It's the second time in less than a month that investigators have issued an alert for a missing teen.

No one has seen since April 27 when she was walking on Fate Conn Road, Lt. Jay Baker said this afternoon.

McDougal had two travel bags with her, one purple and black in color and the other white and blue. She was wearing an orange tank top, blue jeans and flip flops.

The teen is 5-foot-6 and weights 116 pounds. She has brown hair and blue eyes.

On May 3, a man who identified himself as McDougal's uncle said she was safe.

"Shalyn is my niece," Chris Chambers wrote in a comment on Holly Springs-Hickory Flat Patch. "She has been in contact with both of her parents. She is safe and with friends. Shalyn refuses to come be with her family because the last time she did so she was forced into a cop car and made to go back to Georgia where she does not want to be. Her mother and father have been in contact with the Canton PD and have passed on this info."

But on Monday, Baker said authorities were "still looking for" McDougal.

"She is still listed on the Georgia Crime Information Center as missing and until we make contact with her in person, she will remain in that status," Baker said.

Call 911 if you have information about the whereabouts of Greene or McDougal.
