Police are looking for a man they say robbed a Suntrust bank inside the Publix Supermarket at 2900 Peachtree Road. The man, described as a dark-skinned African-American man with a beard, handed a note to the bank teller demanding money.

Cobb County Police are investigating a homicide in Austell that happened Wednesday evening.

According to investigators, the Cobb County Emergency Communications Center dispatched officers from Zone 2 to a shooting which occurred inside a residence in the 1500 block of Pine Circle.

When officers arrived, they discovered the body of a dead male with a gunshot wound. Detectives have identified the victim as 23-year-old Justin Mitchell of Austell.

Angie Cornett Resigns from the Bartow School Board - Cartersville Patch

Bartow County school board District 3 rep and vice chairman Angie Cornett today resigned her position on the board of education, Superintendent John Harper said. The move follows Cornett's arrest on a reckless conduct charge for allegedly striking a system student in the Carterville Walmart parking lot.
