The man killed in a single-vehicle accident in Canton has been identified as Jeffrey Kyle Stanley, 26, of Gainesville.

An unidentified 27-year-old man died this afternoon after a single-vehicle accident on East Main Street.

The man was driving a blue Mazda 3 Hatchback shortly after 3 p.m. today when the vehicle "crossed over the median, flipped several times and landed on its side in the yard of a Canton resident," said Tim Cavender, spokesman for the .

But Cavender said he never made it—at least not for treatment. A helicopter was called to transport the man, who had a faint pulse, to the hospital. But emergency personnel canceled the helicopter when the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Canton Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident.
