Man Injured After Truck Hits Guard Rail on I-575

The male driver suffered injuries to his forehead and was treated at Northside Hospital-Cherokee.

A man was injured after the truck he was driving on I-575 struck a guard rail in Ball Ground.

At around 4:45 p.m. on Monday, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to the single-vehicle accident on the northbound side of the interstate, just south of the Howell Bridge Road interchange.

A commercial pick-up truck apparently struck the guardrail, crossed over it and landed on its side, according to a press release from the agency. The male driver, who did not appear to have any life-threatening injuries, "had a large bump on his forehead" and was taken to Northside Hospital-Cherokee to be treated, Battalion Chief Dan Floyd said.
