Man, 47, Taken to Kennestone

His car went down an embankment on Old Highway 5 in South Canton this afternoon.

An unidentified 47-year-old man was taken to after an accident this afternoon in Canton.

 spokesman Tim Cavender said crews responded to an accident at about 1:45 p.m. on Old Highway 5 in South Canton, not to far from Univeter Road. 

"When emergency service personnel arrived on scene, they found a silver KIA Optima had left the highway, gone down a 30 foot embankment, and struck some trees," Cavender said in a statement. "The driver of the vehicle ... had to be extricated."

The man's injuries don't appear to be life threatening, he said.

The is investigating the cause of the accident.
