'Kidnapped' Woman Arrested
Lisa Bode called 911 on Monday and said she'd been put in the trunk of a car. Today, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said it was a lie.
A 44-year-old Ball Ground woman who called 911 Monday afternoon and said she'd been kidnapped was arrested early Tuesday for falsely reporting the alleged crime, Roger Garrison just told reporters at a morning press conference.
Monday, dispatchers received a call at 2 p.m. from a woman identified as Lisa Bode. According to Lt. Jay Baker, she told dispatchers a white man put her in the trunk of a gold car after her black Ford Explorer broke down on Interstate 575, near the Cherokee-Pickens County line.
They tracked down Bode's Explorer along I-575 South, just inside Cherokee County. Authorities from various agencies searched for Bode for hours.
