Kelly Marlow Will be Arraigned in February

Cherokee School Board member Kelly Marlow and her two associates will all be back in front of a Cherokee County Superior Court judge on Wednesday, Feb. 5.

Cherokee County School Board Member Kelly Marlow and two of her associates will be arraigned next month on charges they falsely accused Superintendent of Schools Dr. Frank Petruzielo of trying to run them over in June.

Marlow, along with her partner Robert Trim and resident Barbara Knowles, will be arraigned at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5 in courtroom 2A at the Cherokee County Justice Center in downtown Canton.

Marlow in October was indicted by a Cherokee County grand jury on four counts of making false statements.

Trim has been indicted on three counts of making false statements while Knowles, secretary of the Cherokee County Republican Party, has been indicted on one count of filing a false report and four counts of making false statements.

The indictments stem from allegations made by Knowles that Petruzielo tried to run them over as they crossed East Main Street after the June 13 school board meeting.

Knowles made the original call to Cherokee County E-911 dispatchers, alleging Petruzielo tried to run them over in his vehicle.

Arrest warrants were issued for the trio on July 5 by the Canton Police Department, and all three were booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
