UPDATE: Jasper Man Dies in Northwest Cherokee Accident
The single vehicle accident occurred Thursday afternoon just north of Canton
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a single vehicle accident that took the life of a Jasper man in Cherokee County.
The accident occurred along Highway 140 near Sam Nelson Road between Canton and Waleska Thursday afternoon.
Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to the accident around 4:45 p.m. and found 28-year-old Guy Russell Railing, Jr outside the vehicle.

Gordy Wright, a Georgia State Patrol spokesperson, said Railing lost control of the vehicle while "negotiating" a curve and veered off the road. The car then struck an embankment and overturned multiple times. Railing was ejected from the car.
A 33-year-old female passenger was able to get out the vehicle and stayed with the driver when emergency crews arrived on the scene. The woman was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta were she was treated for injuries.

The man was transported to Northside Hospital-Cherokee where he later died. Wright said the Georgia State Patrol's Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is conducting a follow-up investigation of this crash.
