Police Search Great Sky Home, Look for Clues in Case of Missing Woman

Detectives don't have evidence to support it, but they aren't ruling out foul play in the case of Ariel Hernandez, a missing Canton woman who hasn't been heard from in two weeks.

Florida Realtor John Hernandez hasn't spoken to his 20-year-old daughter since March 8, the week after she moved from the  off Marietta Highway to the Great Sky home where her boyfriend's parents live.

It's not like Ariel Hernandez to go so long without as much as a call, a text or an email to family and friends, he told the last Friday, the day he reported her missing.

"He was concerned because when he would call her phone, there was nothing," Sgt. Stacy Bailey said this evening, hours after detectives searched the home at 712 Crimson Morning View to see if Ariel Hernandez was there.

Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the sheriff's office, offered no details when Patch contacted him about the case. But the Cherokee Tribune said Mullins took gift cards and other items while employed at UPS as a seasonal worker.

Mullins' father wasn't happy today when detectives showed up on his doorstep to search for Ariel Hernandez, Bailey said.

"We actually secured a search warrant, went in there, we did not locate her," she said. "We are taking it very serious to locate Ms. Hernandez."

Authorities are not ruling out foul play though they don't have any evidence to support that at this time, Bailey said.

Ariel Hernandez drives a red or maroon 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt with Florida license plate No. 584 TWJ.

An employee at several local eateries, La Bamba Mexican Bar & Grill in Laurel Canyon among them, she has lived in Canton for "a couple years," Bailey said.

But Chris Martinez, who identified himself as Ariel Hernandez's brother in an email to Canton-Sixes Patch, said the woman has only lived in Canton "for at most a year."
