Fire Started in Conference Room

But Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services spokesman Tim Cavender said authorities still don't know what caused the blaze.

More than one month after a , the  spokesman said on Monday that investigators have determined the blaze started in a conference room.

But what caused the fire remains a mystery.

"Due to the inability to completely rule of the possibility of an electrical causation within the area of origin, the cause of the fire is "undetermined" at this time," Tim Cavender said in an email to local reporters.

FAST FACTS

The information below came from the report issued by the Cherokee County Fire Investigator:

Origin of the fire: Based on the burn patterns found throughout the structure, the area of origin appears to be within the area (and above) of the conference room in the “B” “C” corner of the structure. This area is also where the addition occurred to the original structure between 1999-2004.

Cause: After careful examination of the fire scene, along with relevant reports, photographs and interviews available at this time, it is the opinion of all investigators involved that the origin of the fire is within the area of the conference room. Due to the inability to completely rule of the possibility of an electrical causation within the area of origin, the cause of the fire is “undetermined” at this time.
