Cherokee Home Destroyed in Wednesday Morning Fire

Preliminary reports suggest the fire at the home on Oak Way may have started in the attic.

Investigators with Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services are working to determine the cause of an early Wednesday morning fire that destroyed a home near Holly Springs.

At around 3:45 a.m., the agency responded to structure fire call at 1007 Oak Way, located off Sixes Road.

Firefighters arrived onto the scene and discovered the two-story home was engulfed in flames, according to a press release from the agency. Preliminary reports suggest the fire possibly started in the attic, Cherokee Fire said. The people inside the home — an adult couple, their adult daughter and fiancé — were all able to escape the blaze without sustaining any injuries.
