Driver Recovering After Ball Ground Highway Accident

Man, 60, taken to North Fulton Hospital.

A 60-year-old Pickens County man who had to be removed from the front windshield of his car on Thursday night is recovering at North Fulton Hospital, authorities said.

About 9:15 p.m. Thursday, responded to a single vehicle accident at 8446 Ball Ground Hwy., spokesman Tim Cavender said.

Investigators found a blue Hyundai Senoia that had left the highway and struck some trees. The driver, who was not identified, was trapped inside. Firefighters stabilized the vehicle, then removed him from the front windshield of the car, Cavender said.

The driver, who was conscious and alert, was taken by ambulance to North Fulton Hospital with severe facial lacerations.Β 

There were no other injuries, Cavender said.
