Sheriff's Office Recertified

2. Fourteen local deputies, police officers and civilian workers have graduated from the Professional Management Program, agency spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said. Officers and civilians from Cherokee 911, the Cherokee, Whitfield, White and Gilmer County Sheriff's Offices, as well as the Alpharetta and Woodstock Police Departments participated in the program, which focused on leadership, managing marginal employees, decision making, legal liability and budgeting.

3. The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office has been recertified through the State of Georgia Law Enforcement Certification Program, Baker said. "It is the third recertification for the agency since it was originally certified in 1998," he said.
