Clayton Burglary Suspect Arrested

A 27-year-old Waleska man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a rash of burglaries in the Clayton community.
Joey Dewayne Holloway, a suspect in two of the burglaries, is at the in lieu of a $59,000 bond, charged with two counts of burglary, said Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the .
He and his wife, 26-year-old Sylvia Holloway, had just been released from the after they were arrested and charged last week with theft by receiving stolen property, Baker said.

The pair allegedly sold stolen jewelry from Cherokee County to a precious metal dealer in Cartersville, he said.
Jewelry was one of the primary targets in the rash of burglaries in Cherokee's Clayton community. Electronics and three guns were also taken. Burglars gained access to the homes by kicking in the doors, Baker said.

The spree started as far back as January.
"Detectives are investigating approximately eight other burglaries in that area, but currently have not linked Holloway to those crimes," Baker said in a news release.
Additional arrests are possible, he said.
