Cherokee Woman Kidnapped

Lisa Bode told dispatchers her SUV broke down on Interstate 575 and a man put her in the trunk of a gold car.

A 44-year-old Ball Ground woman called 911 this afternoon and said she'd been kidnapped, a spokesman said.

Details are sparse, but dispatchers received a call at 2 p.m. from a woman identified as Lisa Bode. According to Lt. Jay Baker, she told dispatchers a white man put her in the trunk of a gold car after her black Ford Explorer broke down on Interstate 575, near the Cherokee-Pickens County line.

Authorities tracked down Bode's Explorer along I-575 South, just inside Cherokee County. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or at 770-928-0239.
