Cherokee Sheriff's Office Announces Reporting Procedures

The agency on an annual basis reminds the public how they can submit commendations or allegations of misconduct by employees.

Cherokee County Sheriff Roger Garrison is once again remind the public about the agency's reporting procedures regarding commendations or allegations of misconduct by employees of the Cherokee Sheriff's Office. 

This is done annually to "maintain integrity and ensure the public's trust in the Cherokee Sheriff's Office," spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said in a press release.

Any citizen wanting to report incidents of misconduct by deputies or commend an employee of the sheriff's office for exceptional job performance is urged to do so. Incidents of misconduct include inappropriate language or gestures, threats, harassment, and/or illegal activity. 

Corrective measures include verbal counseling, written reprimands, remedial training, suspension and termination.
