The alleged incident occurred in the Twin Pines subdivision off of Kellogg Creek Road on Thursday afternoon.

Cherokee Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a local neighborhood after a 10-year-old girl reported a man had exposed himself to her, authorities say.

According to a Sheriff's Office statement, the girl said she had just gotten off her school bus at around 4:15 p.m. Thursday in the Twin Pines subdivision off of Kellogg Creek Road when a man allegedly exposed himself and made inappropriate comments to her. The girl said she screamed and ran home.

Deputies combed the area looking for the suspect, who is described as a heavy set white male with salt-and-pepper hair and was driving an older model white foreign sedan. According to the Sheriff's Office, at least two witnesses heard the girl scream and saw the suspect's vehicle.
