Car Careens Down Embankment

An unidentified 56-year-old man was taken to Northside Hospital-Cherokee with cuts and abrasions.

A car went down an embankment after an accident on Knox Bridge Highway this afternoon, spokesman Tim Cavender said.

Shortly after 1 p.m. today, a white Toyota Avalon hit a guard rail, struck a green Honda Civic, then went down a 20-foot embankment.

The driver of the Toyota, an unidentified 56-year-old man, was taken to Northside Hospital-Cherokee with cuts and abrasions.

The driver of the Honda, an unidentified 17-year-old woman, was checked the scene for minor injuries.

investigators have not determined a cause. An investigation is ongoing.
