Canton Police Still Working Shell Station Robbery Case

Investigators with the Canton Police Department continue to follow up on leads and interview witnesses to Tuesday's robbery.

No definitive leads have come into the Canton Police Department on Tuesday's robbery that occurred outside a gas station in the county seat.

Lt. Jeff Tucker said detectives are still working the case, following up on leads and interviewing suspects in the robbery that allegedly occurred in the parking lot of the Shell gas station on RiverStone Parkway.

The only information the department has received that possibly two black men — one wearing a blue hoodie and another wearing a gray hoodie — were possibly involved.

"They really have nothing to go on," Lt. Tucker said, adding investigators have no information on the age or more specific descriptions on the two men described above.

He also said it's been reported to detectives that "some money" was taken, but they are following up on exactly how much was allegedly taken.

The lieutenant also said there was no surveillance video to determine what exactly happened.

The robbery forced Northside Hospital-Cherokee to go into lock down for about an hour during the incident. No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Canton Police Department at (770) 720-4883.
