Canton Police Participate in National Night Out

The free event is designed to bring law enforcement and the community closer together with the common goal of fighting crime.

The Canton Police Department will be in Brown Park to foster stronger relationships between law enforcement, civilians, and the business community during National Night Out on Aug. 6.

This is the 30th anniversary for National Night Out, which brings police officers and community members together so that they can work together to fight local crime.

Features of the Canton event, which will run from 6 to 10 p.m., include meeting Canton's police and fire officers, seeing police and fire vehicles up-close, free food, and live music. There will also be a bounce house for youngsters.

In addition, citizens will be able to sign up for the CAUS (Community Action Using Social Media) program during National Night Out.

National Night Out is free to attend.
