Canton Police: Man Robbed Rite Aid of Prescription Drugs

The suspect allegedly approached a pharmacist and handed over a note demanding they give him prescription drugs.

The Canton Police Department is looking for a man they say robbed a local pharmacy of its prescription medication.

At around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Canton officers responded to an armed robbery call at Rite Aid at 2017 Marietta Highway

After arriving on the scene, officers learned a man entered the store and walked to the pharmacy.

The suspected allegedly gave the pharmacist a note, which listed the prescription drugs he wanted "while displaying a handgun in his waist band," according to a release from the agency.

The man then took a "large quantity" of the drugs and left through the store's front entrance, Canton police said.

The man is described as a white male, about six feet tall and was wearing a straw hat, a white button down shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes.

The suspect allegedly left on foot towards Marietta Highway.

Anyone with information on the suspect or the incident is asked to call 911 or contact Detective Drew Henson at (770) 720-4883 or dhenson@canton-georgia.com.
