Canton Man Dies in Motorcycle Accident
Michael Neil Young was traveling eastbound on Highway 20 when his motorcycle left the roadway, struck a tree and then hit a building.
A Canton man was fatally wounded in a single-vehicle accident late Sunday afternoon.
Troopers with the Georgia State Patrol's Jasper post responded to the accident on Highway 20 near the River Green community, spokesman Gordy Wright said.
At around 5:35 p.m., a 2006 Honda CBR was traveling eastbound near Weeks Road when the motorcycle, being operated by Michael Neil Young, 23, left the roadway, hit a tree and then struck a building, Wright said.
Young, of Canton, died from injuries he received in the crash, which remains under investigation. Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the fatal wreck, Wright added.
