Alleged Father-Son Fight Leads to Stabbing

The incident occurred Sunday afternoon in Canton.

An alleged tussle between a Canton father and son on Sunday afternoon left one man in the hospital and one man in jail.

The Canton Police Department said in a release that Anthony Johnson, Sr., 53, has been arrested for aggravated battery in the stabbing of his 25-year-old son, Anthony Johnson, Jr.

The younger Johnson was transported to Northside Hospital-Cherokee by his father after being stabbed at the home of Mary Williams, who is the mother of the elder Johnson.

After he delivered his son to the hospital, the elder Johnson left the scene. Canton Police were summoned to the hospital at 3:03 p.m. and began looking for Johnson, Sr.Β 

Officers from the Holly Springs Police Department located Johnson, Sr. at the Pine Crest Motor Lodge, and he was brought back to Canton for questioning. He was subsequently arrested and charged for the stabbing of his son.

Johnson, Jr.'s, injuries were so severe that he had to be airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center, where he is currently in Intensive Care.

It is currently unknown what caused the elder Johnson to stab his son.
